The reflection was already there in the original picture, but yes I DO TRY to give the reflection special attention in my drawings, as it is an eye-cather for the viewer...it keeps their atention for a split second focussed on your work, making it different.
Thanks for showing interest in my drawing The freckles was quite a challenge and I spend a lot of time on them. I started with a soft grey overall tone using a H pencil and paper blending stump, then I made darker spots (2B) and blend them as well. Then I worked on it with a kneaded erser and an electric eraser (brand Derwent/price around € 7,00) Then some blending again and more darkening of spots, blending and erasers. In the original work is looks quite overdone, but because of loss of scanning quality the result looks soft and natural again. 80% of the shading structures I do with the paper stump.
The electric eraser is really a great tool. I use it as well on the hair. After some practise you can make different structures with the electric eraser, from clear white lines to soft patch-strokes. If you are able to get one that would be great. It will boost your ´hair-work´! Hair has always been a challenge to me, driving me crazy With the electric eraser it becomes fun to do!
So I took a stroll through your gallery just now and had to take a few fav´s home...but there is so much beautiful work...the love for nature´s forces and colors flows from your heart into your work! A beautiful gallery, my compliments
